Bar Construction

Host a rugby game or a relative’s birthday just to find out the magnetic attraction of people to your bar.

Whether it be an outside bar at the braai, under your lapa, or even indoors, this is an area for entertaining and impressing people. All indoor rockwork construction is dependant on you not having wooden floors or any flooring surface that can be damaged by water. This is an unfortunate limitation for indoor work, as the powder releasing agent for the texture pads needs to be sprayed off the cement with a water jet prior to painting.

We construct our bars by building a basic clay brick or cement-block wall, cement-cladded, carved & rock-painted to suit your environment. Where necessary a concrete foundation is first layed.

Similar to decking, the bar-top can be literally anything you choose, from post-formed commercial chipboard to the most beautiful sleeper-wood imaginable.

Sleeper-wood tops & bar cabinets can be custom made by Flinstone (Contact Glen at 021 9810603) to fit any shape of wall that we build. All the bar pics on this site depict sleeperwood products supplied by Flinstone. The main bar at The Palms(See photo) is 11m long and the bar top was installed as a single piece! It was brought to the site on a flatbed truck and carefully lifted into position by 14 men, due to it’s immense weight. Truly, an impressive project.
